With over 30 years of experience in Yoga from delivering individual sessions, regular open classes to week-long intensives and year-long programs, Kristen imparts a wealth of knowledge to enrich you through yoga practice.

Entering the Chaos to Find a Sweet Spot, a Daring Adventure into Presence.
In the practice of yoga, there is a somewhat magical moment when you tap into the sweet spot within an asana (or posture). It's that point where you begin to explore, connecting in breath space, sinking deeper into the form or asana, and instantaneously feel the tension gently release as your resistance subsides. This sensation resonates with the yogic principle of "Sthira Sukham Asanam" from Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, a call to find a balance between effort (steadiness) and ease (relief). In this precious moment, yoga becomes more than just physical exertion; it transforms into a deeply enriching inner path back to a point of origin.
This, is a compelling aspect that renews a desire to return to the mat, time and time again.

5 Directions - North, South, East, West, Centre
The concept of the five directions, encompassing North, South, East, West, and the Center, holds significance in both yoga and Tibetan Buddhism, embodying a shared emphasis on balance and interconnectedness. In yoga, these directions are integrated into the practice of asanas, symbolizing various aspects of the body and mind, promoting stability, expansion, growth, reflection, and equilibrium. In Tibetan Buddhism, the vajra, represented as the dorgey, serves as a sacred symbol denoting the indestructible nature of reality. It too aligns with the five directions, emphasizing balance and integration among the five elements and the unity of body, mind, and spirit.
